About us
Connect 2 Protect is a non – profit society created to encourage Government and Health Authorities of BC to activate a more supportive and effective system of mental health crisis response care; one that requires and mandates strengthened communications between individuals experiencing mental health crises, their families, advocates, and health care providers.
We envision a British Columbia where Health Authorities and the Ministries of Health and Mental Health and Addictions are accountable for ensuring that mental health crisis support is person-centered, compassionate, and comprehensive. We want all people experiencing mental health crises to be held safe in their most vulnerable moments.
Connect with us & join the community
We believe that change happens through collective action and invite individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and organizations to join us in our mission. Together, we can advocate for policy reforms, provide support to families, and create a more compassionate and inclusive mental health crisis care system.
Together, let’s Connect 2 Protect, because through collaboration and compassion, we can create a safer net of support.
Community Event
Please join us for a peaceful Mental Health Advocacy event at the front of the Legislature building October 5th, 2023, at 12:00 pm-1:00 pm
We will be advocating for urgent changes that are needed in mental health crisis care and suicide prevention in BC and encourage you to join us in our efforts as we urge the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions and Ministry of Health to make the necessary changes to ensure that mental health crisis support in BC ensures compassion, connection, collaboration and accountability. We want all people experiencing mental health crises to be held safe in their most vulnerable moments.
We lost our brother this year to suicide shortly after he was discharged from the hospital during an active mental health crisis and we believe that if a call had been made informing us of his discharge, we might have been able support him in his most vulnerable moment, and he might still be here with us today.
Together, we are a strong voice for change and can connect to protect those struggling with mental health crises by shining light on the crack in BC’s Mental Health System.
If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Click button below to email us.
At this event we will be bringing poster pictures of the people we have lost to suicide to honor them and have a visual for the policy makers to see the lives who have fallen through the cracks, we encourage anyone who wishes to bring a handheld poster or message to this event to please do so. We do ask that all participants come in peace as we want to ensure we can focus on our community all working together with a collective goal of doing better for everyone needing mental health support.
Thank you for your commitment to advocating for improved mental health services and policies. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and bring about positive change.
